Manitowoc, Wis. – Heresite, a leader in the development of thin film corrosion resistant coatings, has launched HereShield, a low-VOC direct to metal coating. HereShield offers multiple application options including spray, dipping, or flooding. It exhibits excellent corrosion resistance, UV resistance and weathering qualities, along with good adhesion to ferrous and non-ferrous metals without complex pretreatment or primers.
“Our goal was to develop a water-based coating that provides the high levels of corrosion resistance HVAC-R experts have come to expect from Heresite. HereShield is specially formulated for marine/saltwater environments. It is splash resistant to a range of acids and inorganic salts, and offers excellent durability and salt fog performance,” states Peter Hellman of Heresite Protective Coatings.
Tests performed on HereShield included cyclic offshore testing (ISO 12944-9) at 25 weeks or 4,200 hours, ASTM B-117 (5,000+ hours), crosshatch adhesion, and impact resistance with positive results.
